COVID-19 Update

We take your health and the health of our staff members seriously. We are in compliance with Ministry of Ontario, Royal College of Dental Surgeons (RCDSO) and the Canadian Dental Hygiene Association (CDHO) guidelines to protect our patients and team members from COVID-19. We have a number of systems in place throughout our practice to protect you and our team members. Here are a few of the precautions we take every day.

Daily staff screening

Each team member is screened daily for any early symptoms or contacts that may put them at increased risk of contracting COVID-19. A daily digital temperature is also taken each morning.

Patient Pre-screening

We pre-screen patients using the latest guidance from the Government of Ontario and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. The initial pre-screening will take place over the phone.

We digitally pre-screen our patients in advance for COVID-19 symptoms and risk factors to ensure our clinic stays COVID-free. You will receive a text to link you to our COVID screening form that will be reviewed before you arrive for your appointment. We ask that all patients who are feeling sick to please reschedule.

A virtual waiting room: We have set up our virtual “waiting room” for our patients to check in via text message and wait, if necessary, somewhere safe outside the clinic, such as in a car.

When you arrive: When invited to enter the office from your vehicle after completing the online screening form, you will be asked to sanitize your hand at one of two stations in our front entrance. Please bring your mask with you. If you don’t have a mask, one will be provided to you. Your temperature will be taken. You will then be immediately escorted to your treatment room.

Office disinfection

High touch surfaces throughout the office are wiped down regularly. Magazines and toys have been removed from the waiting room. Between patients, the consultation room is cleaned and disinfected, and surface barriers are replaced.

Sterilization

All tools are either disposable or thoroughly sterilized between patients. We’re proud to uphold rigorous sterilization procedures at our office.

Air filtration (HEPA)

We have invested in Surgically Clean Air filtration systems in our waiting area and in each of our 10 treatment rooms. These units help to ensure the air quality is sanitary during aerosol producing procedures. This increases safety from germs and other pollutants.

Enhanced PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

Our clinical staff are now using surgical masks, N95 masks (when necessary), gowns and face shields. Aerosol producing procedures are performed in our enclosed treatment rooms with doors closed to prevent spreading aerosols throughout the clinic. Treatments rooms are left untouched for 15-30 minutes before being cleaned and disinfected for the next patient.
